We have been researching genetic cancer predisposition in Hanover and Heidelberg for many years. The joint CPS registry has been in place since 2017. We aim to leverage our experience and research findings to improve the lives of people with CPS. On this page, we introduce our team members who are available for phone calls, email inquiries, and welcoming you to the KPS outpatient clinic.

About our Team in Heidelberg
The Hopp Children’s Tumor Center at the NCT Heidelberg (KiTZ) is a therapy and research center for pediatric oncology and hematology, established by Heidelberg University Hospital and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). Its mission is to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to better assist children with cancer.
Prof. Stefan Pfister leads the preclinical program at the KiTZ. His research has significantly advanced our understanding of how genetic changes contribute to cancer, especially brain tumors in children.
Alongside Prof. Kratz, he oversees the LFS Cancer Predisposition Syndrome Registry and the Genetic Cancer Predisposition Working Group of the Society for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology. PD Dr. Kristian Pajtler, a distinguished cancer researcher and physician, is also a key member of the Heidelberg team dedicated to patients with cancer predisposition syndromes.
