Prof. Christian Kratz (left) is Director of the Clinic for Pediatric Haematology and Oncology at Hannover Medical School. Prof. Dr. med. Stefan Pfister (right) is Director of the Hopp Children’s Tumor Center (KiTZ) in Heidelberg. Together they lead the largest German research consortium on cancer predisposition syndromes.

Individuals with cancer predisposition syndromes (CPS) face a significantly higher risk of cancer due to genetic factors. Approximately 10% of all children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer are affected by CPS. In adults, CPS is often diagnosed only after multiple cancer occurrences.

Individuals with CPS encounter substantial health challenges and require personalized treatment. Our team, comprised of scientists and pediatric oncologists, is dedicated to supporting these individuals.

We provide guidance, early detection, and treatment through our outpatient clinics. We also offer healthcare professionals comprehensive information to aid in treating individuals with CPS. Additionally, we conduct research because improved early detection and treatment options for CPS are urgently needed.
